Celestino Gambino
Our Story
The story began with a legend named Celestino Gambino, Born February 9,1937, the son of a Sicilian farmer who grew up in a small village near Palermo. Later, he married Josephine and in 1974, together they opened La Parmigiana restaurant in the heart of Southampton village. Celestino named the restaurant “La Parmigiana” because he said “Everything we do is about the cheese” . He chose Southampton village because he said “there was just something different about the village and it felt more like home.”
The entire Gambino family is known and loved by the community. Their hard work, devotion, and delicious cooking is frequently shared in the homes of so many regulars. The restaurant’s reputation and business has grown year after year. Laparm is a family operated business with Celestino & Josephine’s children, Maria, Anna, Giovanna, Rosalia, & Rodolfo creating the dishes. Even some of the grandchildren work here.
Patrons can be seated in the dining room; or in season (April-October) on the patio at the rear of the restaurant. A very robust menu offers appetizers, pizzas, sandwiches, main dishes and desserts. Beer and wine is also available. Attire is informal and children are always welcome.
No reservations are taken; but if you have a large party (six or more) you can call ahead and get an approximate time for a seating.
